Well, we met our first potential nanny today. L seemed very nice, experienced and was sweet with M. She's got many years of nanny experience and came to us following the recommendation of a friend. We seemed to mesh with her and she respected our parenting style. We seemed to be on the same page with our wants for an almost one-year-old baby. I also get the feeling she's the sort of woman who would offer great guidance & advice to us as well.
BUT...
There are a couple of slight hiccups that we need to look into on our end. One issue is pretty minor and definitely not a deal breaker (for her or us) but the other is a bit more significant. We need to talk to some people and get an idea of logistics to see if it will work for both parties.
I really hoped we'd love her and that she'd love us and we'd all be hugging by the end of the meeting. We didn't quite have that but we were left with a very great feeling about her & her nannying style. I've got my fingers crossed and will be interested to see what sort of answers we get over the next few days.
